Zalie Vyvian (Unthank) Clarke 1909 - 1986

Zalie Vyvian (Unthank) Clarke was born in 1909 to Joseph Unthank and Anastasia (Hoban) Unthank, and had siblings Eileen Lillian (Unthank) Webb, Nellie Twyford (Unthank) Simcock, Florence Margaret (Unthank) Cook, William Norman Unthank, and Joseph Edward Unthank. She married George Sydenham Clarke, and had children Noel Clarke and Ian Clarke. Zalie Clarke died at age 76 years old on March 10, 1986, and was buried in 1986 at Springvale Botanical Cemetery in Melbourne, Greater Dandenong City County, VIC Australia.

The organization focused on legal strategies designed to confront the critical civil rights issues of the day - which included lynching and segregation in schools. The goal was to secure for all people the rights guaranteed in the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the United States Constitution.
