Şenlik Aydın 1874 - 1952

Şenlik Aydın was born on July 1, 1874 to Nebi Aydın and Güzel Aydın, and had a brother İskender Aydın. He was the parent of Alişan Aydın, Alattin Aydın, and Peri (Aydın) Güngör. He married Telli Aydin, and they were married until Telli's death on January 1, 1926. They had children Mikdat Aydın, Nazhanım (Aydın) Koç, and Şahismail Aydın. Şenlik Aydın died at age 77 years old on June 5, 1952.

In 1874, in the year that Şenlik Aydın was born, on May 20th, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis were approved for a patent for "blue jeans with copper rivets". They charged $13.50 per dozen jeans. Although the term "jeans" was first used in 1795 - in Italy - using rivets to reinforce stress points in jeans such as pockets and the bottom of the fly was an original idea..
