Rev Fr Mychal Fallon Judge
September 11th Terrorist Attack Victim. A Roman Catholic Priest, he was a New York City Fire Department Chaplain who was among the initial responders when Al-Qaeda terrorists flew commercial airliners to the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, New York on September 11, 2001. Upon arrival he administered prayers and last rites to victims lying on the ground near the towers, then entered the Fire Department command post that was set up in the lobby of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. When the South Tower collapsed 9:59 AM, Father Judge was killed by debris that smashed through the North Tower lobby. Shortly after he was killed, and before the North Tower itself collapsed, his body was pulled from the lobby, and the photographs of the recovery became famous and one of the most iconic images captured that day. His body was the first of the thousands of victims to be brought to the New York City Medical Examiner, and he was officially certified as “Victim 001” from the attacks. He was interred in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, New Jersey, and his name is found on Panel S-18 of the National September 11 Memorial in Manhattan, New York City, New York.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!
