Cyd Youlynne Vinson was born to Ray Allen Vinson (1933 - 2002) and Charlotte M. Moxley (1932 - 2003) on July 12, 1953 in Indiana. She had two sisters, Marie Pittman and Dori Vinson and three brothers, Charles Vinson, Darryl Carnes, and Antoine Carnes. She attended high school at Elkhart High School in Elkhart, Indiana and graduated in 1971. Cyd moved to Los Angeles and evidentially worked on the CW television show "Girlfriends", At the end of Season 5, episode 10, which aired on November 29, 2004, paid tribute to her. Cyd Youlynne Vinson had one daughter Shani Breathett. According to her daughter Shani, Cyd was well loved, funny, knowledgeable, and had a passion for history. She went on to say that her mother would be proud of the gay community for the progress that's been made. She died November 2, 2004 and is buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood CA.
