My father was always diligent worker. He taught me a lot about responsibility and the value of hard work. However, he was not emotionally close to me for many years. I am not saying that he did not love me, he did not show a lot of emotion. While I was growing up, he spent as much time as he could with us, when he was not working.
When I first became a parent, I concentrated on what aspects of my upbringing and relationship with my father I wanted to improve with my own children, such as liking spending quality time, being more involved in my children's lives, knowing who they are, and what they like, and what they are going through. Please don't get me wrong, he was involved, my mother was an invalid and he took care of her too, he was a great man and I want EVERYONE to know this. I LOVE and MISS him daily.
