4 Generations from the Gold Rush 49er

I am holding my grandson Jonathan Van Tassell. My mother Martha Lewis Holmes is sitting beside me. My son Pieter is above and Jonathan's mother Janene is on the right. This picture is of four native-born Californians descended from my grandfather, Samuel Jackson Lewis, who was one of the 49ers who came to California during the Gold Rush and settled in Sheridan.
