Edward Willis Johnson was born in East Windsor, Connecticut in 1827. He married Sophie O. Dibble on Dec. 31, 1851 and died in Granby, Connecticut on March 19, 1899. Edward and Sophie were the parents of Edward A. Johnson, Lyman Charles Johnson, Ruhama Marilla Johnson and James S. Johnson
