Alma C. Mothershead
Alma Macioroski Mothershead was born February 27, 1910 in Kewanee IL, a daughter of Alex and Bertha Rossa Macioroski. She came to Montana with her parents, who homesteaded north of Terry. Her mother died when she was six years old leaving her and three younger brothers. She received her education at Valley View School on upper Bad Route. She worked at various ranch homes in her early years. On January 3, 1938 she and Glenn Mothershead were married in Billings. They were married for 51 years. Mrs Mothershead loved her children and grandchildren. Their door was open to anyone and even to complete strangers needing help. She enjoyed taking care of the livestock, her flowers and was active in 4-H and Home Demonstration Clubs. Mrs Mothershead, 80, died November 7, 1990 in Sweet Grass Community Hospital at Big Timers. Survivors include a daughter, Alice Reider of Boulder, two son, Bill of Billings and Douglas of Big Timer; two brothers Albert of Melrose and Elmer of Sheridan; three half-brothers, Tony, Tom and Stan of Terry; three half-sisters, Alice Gothard and Josie and Barbara of Terry, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1989, and a half-brother Chester V. Macioroski. --condensed from The Terry Tribune 11-14-1990 p. 11
