With a name like Anastasia Lavallee she shouldn't be hard to find info on her, its the Mary Johnson that are hard to locate because of the commonality of the name.
My grandfather was baptized in Ste Genevieve Church in Berthier, Quebec as was his father and so on until the last one, Jean Baptiste Lavallee who was baptized in 1776. Then the rest of the ancestors were from Sorel which is on the other side of the St. Lawrence River. The last Lavallee baptized there was Jean in 1675.
I meant to write 1674 and not 1675. His father was the 1st Lavallee born in Quebec in 1653. He was born in Quebec City and his father came from France. I was really lucky with my ancestors. They did not move around and settle out west where records were sparse.
Thanks cousin Don for this great photo of our grandmother.
