Bertha Agusta Emilie (Gartzke) Seefeldt - OBITUARY
Death calls Mrs. Wm Seefeldt a pioneer of Fairbanks Township. She died at home New Years Day from infirmities of old age. She was well known through this section for she has reared a family of children who have taken an active part in building the community. The lives of those who were intimately acquainted with the deceased were made richer by the model of self-sacrificing love. The village of Split Rock will long cherish the memory of their kind hearted neighbor. Mrs Bertha Augusta Emilie Seefeldt, wife of Wm Seefeldt was born in Grosz Benz Pommer, Germany on the 13th of March 1845, married 1864 and came to the U.S. in 1879. They settled in the town of Grant and moved in 1895 to Fairbanks, She leaves 9 children and husband along with 3 brothers and a sister in Germany.
