Carl Dusek

Carl Edward Dusek was born on July 10, 1962 in Garfield Heights, Ohio. Chef Carl’s parents were Robert “Bob” (1929-1966) and Camille nee Brady Dusek (1931-2010). Carl was the fifth of six children; Debie, Claudia, Anthony, Marilyn, and Sibyl Dusek. He made the perfect baby of the family, until a little sister who also made a perfect baby of the family. They became best friends. Carl was like his father in that he never knew a stranger. His smile and playful blue eyes could lift one’s spirits in just a glance. His easy going nature braced a sense of humor and warmth that put one at ease. He was the man who listened and helped people how ever he could. When one walked away from Chef Carl one was always the better for it. His childhood and youth were lived in Shalersville Township and Mantua Village Ohio. He grew to love cooking, golf and fishing. He went from inch and a half blue gills from his cousin’s pond to bass in Lake Erie to over 100 pound tunas in the Gulf of Mexico. His pride however were his two children and two grandchildren. Carl was a celebrated chef in the greater New Orleans area.
