A photo of my great grandfather, Charles "Charley" Parsley in the U.S. Army during WWI. He survived the war but lost his sense of taste or smell. He couldn't really taste food for the rest of his life after the war. He was born on November 15, 1894, the son of Pleasant "Lee" and Margaret (Ray) Parsley. He married Ruth Bowling in 1919 and had 8 children. He died in 1963 in Laurel County, Kentucky.
