He married Helen Ruth (Bennett) Sponenberg, and had children Emma Elizabeth (Martz) Vanderpool, Madeline Marian (Martz) Corderman, Helen Marie (Martz) Sponenberg, Esther May (Martz) Phillips, Clarence Eugene Martz, Betty Jean (Martz) Marshall, Wilbur Lafayette Martz, Beverly Ann Martz, and Ruth Arlene (Martz) Thompson. Clarence Martz died at age 67 years old on May 4, 1961 in Montoursville, Lycoming County, and was buried in May 1961 at Christ Lutheran Stone Church Cemetery in Allenwood, Union County.
