Clarence Richard Selman had four children, Paul Allen, Sally Carmine, Mildred Alice and Laura Ann. He had 5 siblings, Bettye, Billie (Georgia), Alice, Benjamin Thomas, Jeanne and Alice. He was born to Lily Carmine Conn and Eugene Rutherford Selman. He worked in the country music business as a producer, song writer, manager, and was a founder of the Country Music Writers Association. He was also a drug and alcohol counselor working with a number of facilities include Bradford, Charter hospitals, Cumberland Heights and New Life Lodge and Hope Recovery Center
