David Sanson
David was born on the 30 January 1874 in Camperdown to Thomas Sanson and Mary Elizabeth Grant. The family relocated to New South Wales about 1888 and then settled in Narromine, NSW from 1892. David married Evelyn Bridgid Smith on 19 November 1902 in Narromine. David was 28 years old. The wedding took place at the RC Church. Evelyn was given away by her brother Mr C Smith and the best man was George Sanson. Bridesmaid's were Evelyn's sisters Lucy and Edith. David and Evelyn boarded the train to Orange for their honeymoon. They had one son, Raymond born in October 1903 but sadly died in Dec 1903. Evelyn died a few years later on 29 May 1909 and both are buried in the Narromine Cemetery. Some years later, David married Maude Matilda Hodges on 25 August 1920 in Mosman, NSW. They had one son -Harry who was born on the 17th May 1921 in Narromine, NSW. Harry was the only child of David and Maude. He married Helen Irene Taylor and have three daughters, Janet Ann, Denese Marie and Patricia. Harry died on 11 June 1968 in Cairns, Qld. On the 4 November 1913, David was pinned against a fence by a horse. He sustained a broken collarbone and fractured ribs. The local newspaper article: ACCIDENT AT NARROMINE. Whilst engaged driving a waggon on Friday last, Mr. D. Sanson, a well known resident of the Narromine district sustained painful injuries. It appears that when passing through a gateway he looked back to see if the vehicle would "clear" the posts, when - the horses swerved, and he was pinned against the fence by the shaft. He sustained a broken Collarbone, in addition- to the fracture of three ribs. He was taken into Narromine on Saturday and is doing as well as can be expected. David was employed by Kierath, Nelson Pty Ltd in Narromine At the age of 64 years David suffered a heart attack and died on 14 September 1939.
