I believe this is my family. Were any from Georgia?
I don't think so. I know the family entered the country in Canada and by the 1860's were living in Michigan. Will and his wife Ethyl Pratt moved from there to Wisconsin and then to Minnesota. Frank and Edith stayed in Michigan. The men worked for the railroad during the lumbering era.

Thank you. You are right. Mine were here to fight in the American Revolution and his widow received land in Georgia for serving. The name were close but my grandmother also said the "Dorsey" boys(Jimmy and Tommy were her first cousins. I have been looking for a long time.

Our family spelled their last name with a C instead of an S, although I believe they were probably all related if you go back far enough. The S indicates the English spelling of the name. Whereas the C is the Gallic version. I think there was a lady named Sarah Dorsey that left her house to Jefferson Davis. She is probably from your branch of the family tree. You can read about her at:
Definitely got some Pratts in my line.
