E.R. Braithwaite, To Sir with Love
E.R. Braithwaite (Edward Ricardo Braithwaite) was the author of the book "To Sir with Love" which was based on his own experiences about teaching in London's East End.
Born in Georgetown, Guyana, he was educated at the City College of New York (both of his parents went to Oxford).
To Sir with Love, of course, was made into a film (1967) in which Sidney Poitier starred.
