My grandparents were married in 1933 & bought a 80 acre farm on Damrau Road several miles south of Amherst, WI. They farmed there until 1945 & bought a 160 acre farm about 1 mile east of Amherst. My grandfather was milking 38 cows in 1976. My grandparents had 6 children. 2 girls & 4 boys. All of the boys went into the Air Force. He ate dinner one night in April of 1981, laid down for a while, the phone rang & grandma tried to wake him up & couldn't, so she called 911 & he had a stroke & lived for a few days in the hospital & died. I am Dale E Bakke, son of Lee (Leora) the oldest of the grandchildren & live in Plover, WI now.
