Fern Elaine (Quimby) Root was born on February 9, 1926 in Hamilton, Kansas United States to Homer Quimby and Selma Quimby, and had siblings Warren A Quimby, Gene Dale Quimby, Floyd Ray Quimby, and Dorothy Quimby. She married Floyd "Punch" Nowling and they later divorced. She had children David Nowling and Glen Nowling. Fern Root died at age 75 years old on February 14, 2001.
