George Sharik of Castle Hayne, New Hanover County, NC was born on September 20, 1927 in Úbrež, Sobrance County, Košice Slovakia to Paul Sarik and Mary Sarik. He had siblings John Sarik, Paul Sharik, Michael Sharik, Mary Sember, and Juraj Šárik. He married Janet Elizabeth (Campbell) Sharik on December 26, 1959 at Short Hills LDS Church, in Millburn, Essex County, New Jersey United States, and they were married until Janet's death on June 28, 1984. George Sharik died at age 69 years old on March 1, 1997 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina United States, and was buried at LDS Cemetery in Hampstead, Pender County.
