George T. Faren, 59, of Cross Road, Guilford died Monday, November 8, 1993 at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown following a short illness.
He was born on May 18, 1934 in New York City, the son of Thomas and Josephine (Turner) Farnen. On December 16, 1956, in Croton Falls, NY, he married Mabel P. Morley, who died December 27, 1990. George was well known in the area, having operated Guilford Auto Repair for many years. He was a member of the Chenango County Chamber of Commerce and the NYS Sheriff's Assn. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Sylvia Farnen of Bainbridge; his daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Peter Marks of Mt. Upton; his sister, Katherine Monahan of Passiac, NJ; his grandchildren, Brings Marks, Casey Marks and Erin Marks, all of Mt. Upton, and Nikki Faren and Ashely Faren, both of Barinbridge; his mother in law, Mabel Morely of Norwich; and several nieces and nephews.

George Thomas Farnen was the son of Thomas Farnen and Josephine Turner. He had an older sister Catherine Farnen. He was born in New York City and grew up in Kent, Putnam, New York. When he was a young boy, he lived with his parents, maternal grandfather Ema Turner, and his sister.
On December 16, 1956, in Croton Falls, NY, he married Mabel P. Morley, who died December 27, 1990. They had a son named Thomas and a daughter named Terry.
He later resided in Guilford, Chenango, New York, and was a member of the Chenango County Chamber of Commerce and the NYS Sheriff's Association.
