Gladys Rodriguez

I came across Gladys' story in the year 2014 while watching an old documentary about life in the Bronx during the late 70s. Like a lot of other young people in the mid millennia, I was fascinated about how life was for young people at that time. She seemed like a beautiful soul full of life and energy and it strangely enough it pained me to learn that she died in 1985... almost a decade before I was even born. How could I feel grief or connected to someone who is divided by space and time? I don't know. Gladys I'm sure was a friend to many and while I may not have known her personally, I hope in her last days she was surrounded by the love and warmth of her family and friends. I think all young people deserve that much.
