Yeah, she looks older, but hairstyles back then didn't exactly flatter the face. And those granny glasses gave an older look, too.

Of course, with her being born in the 1830s, by age 57 in 1890, her life expectancy was only another 10 or so years.

She had very probably lost several teeth, thus the aged look. If you cover her mouth snd chin, her face looks significantly younger.
