Harry C. WORK
I have in my possession an old photograph of Harry C. WORK of Crystal Falls (no state identified) which was taken at the M. J. Streuser Studio in Bellevue, IA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Harry appearing to be in his 20's at the time it was taken. The photograph was a gift to Juliet SEAWARD. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Harry and his family:

Harry Clark WORK was b. 31 Aug 1866 in Canoe, PA to parents William Alexander “Alex” Scroggs WORK (1843-1924) and Mary Ann ROSS (1847-1931). Harry was one of 8 children born to this couple including Harry Clark; Bessie Leona or Louise; Joseph Ross Brown; Nancy Jean “Jennie”; Mary Evaline “Evelyn” or “Eva”; Homer Ney; Lola Nell or Bell; and Ross B. WORK, all born between 1866 and 1892. Harry married Florence Abigail HUNT (1870-1918) on 20 Dec 1898 or 20 Dec 1899 in Hanover, IL and they had a daughter, Josephine Florence WORK (1909-1999).

Harry married a second time after his first wife died to Harriett or Harriet Carolina or Caroline WILBUR or WILBER or LITTLE (1885-1947) on 31 Dec 1920 in Escanaba, MI. It appears that Harriett had a son from a previous marriage, William Wilbur LITTLE (1912-1961). Harry died 19 or 22 Apr 1945 in Port Washington, NY or Escanaba, MI and is buried in the Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba, MI.

I am hoping to locate someone from Harry’s family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley
