This is my maternal great Uncle Harry "Junior" Cortright, brother of my Grandmother Ruth Cortright Hamilton Caldwell. He was born in Oct. 1924 and died in ? 1997. He is buried somewhere in the Dallas Fortworth, Texas where he lived for many years.
Cherri this is my line. grandfather Frederick Fay Cortright married to Eva McAndrew. Great grandfather Joseph Cortright was married to Margaret Elizabeth Puff. Frederick was born in Elmira, NY and Joseph in Danby, NY. We do have a Ruth in the family. But not a Harry that I know of. Ruth was my father's sister. She married James Garry. My father was Frederick Kramer Cortright. Have not found out much about my Cortright line. But have found someone in Danby that may be able to help me. I hope. Helen
Not sure we are same line or not. My Grandmother Ruth was daughter of Harry Henry Cortright son of Charles Henry Cortright. Charles and Harry both born in Tioga Center. Anyone before that have not been able to find, also dont know about Charles parents or if had siblings. Cheri Carter Fellows
Dear Cheri, My great grandfather Joseph Cortright was born in 1823. I know nothing of his siblings or parents. I know that at one point he moved to Elmyra which is in Chemung County. That is where my grandfather was born. So there is a possibility through his line. I just don't know. If I find out anything I will let you know.
Let me know if there is a connection as my line of Cortrights were from Tioga Center, NY. And Im kind of stuck, trying to work on them now when I can. Thanks and good luck as we all need it, being a detective isnt so easy!

I have had the most luck with the Cortright, McAndrew, Kramer & Puff side of the family who were primarily from the NY/NJ are. The Liedikes and Himmelsbach side has been more difficult because my gggrandfathers emigrated. As far as I know they were in the Philadelphia area only. But I enjoy the search just the same.
