Harvey William Townzen Sr was born on March 27, 1927 in Denton, Texas United States to William Stockton Townzen and Minnie Lee Morrison Townzen, and had siblings Belle Townzen, Columbus Newton Townzen, Martha Townzen, Viola Mae (Townzen) Nunn, Joseph Clarence Townzen, William Benjamine Townzen, Myrtle (Townzen) Whisenant, Mary Frances (Townzen) Cox, Charles Monroe Townzen, Nina Lee (Townzen) Wright, and Effie Irene Townzen. He married Freida Ann (Fontenot) Ratcliff on September 18, 1953 and they later divorced. He had children Romona Ann (Townzen) Durdel, Harvey William Townzen Jr, Patrick Wayne Townzen Sr, and Patricia Ann (Townzen) Dennis.
