Joseph Riley Heath was born the fourth of Lee and Sallie (Mayo) Heath's 13 children and their fourth son. Like his siblings Joe was born in Tennessee and went along when the family moved to Arkansas.
It is not clear if he met Lizzie Fults before moving or after as her family was also from Tenn and moved to Arkansas around the same time as the Heath's did.
Joe and Lizzie were married in Stone County, Arkansas Feb 14, 1904. He was 30 and she was 21. They had three daughters and sadly Lizzie died only six years after their marriage after getting pneumonia. Lizzie died on Christmas Eve 1910. Joe never remarried and he raised their daughters: Ruth, Erma Lee, and Lois Lavonda Heath with the help of his parents Lee and Sallie.
Joe lived his life in Arkansas and died Dec. 30 1967 at the age of 93. He was survived by his 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and at least 15 grandchildren.
