"Jacob C. Frost, Early Settler of Bancroft and Veteran of Civil War. In July 1841, he enlisted in the Civil War in Itasca, Minnesota and served four years, before re-enlisting in Huntsville Alabama. In March 1864, during a 30 day veteran's furlough, he went to Geneva, Wisconsin, where he married Miss Mary Jennette Gibson on the seventeenth. They eventually had six children: Lionell, Inez G., Guy, Roy, Erma, and Blanche. Jacob died on 27 Sep 1921 in Long Beach, California where he was living with his wife.
