James E. Bowen was a son of Silas and Margarett (McElveen) Bowen of Statesboro, GA. He was born in Statesboro but moved to Florida after the Civil War. He lived in Florida with his Wife, Francis, most of their married life and is burried in Evergreen Cemetery in Davenport Florida.
