I also am a descendant of William Walker. William was born in Antrim, Northern Ireland.
William and his son, James, came to America, via New Orleans. A son, John, was born in South Carolina in 1820. They are in the 1830 census if Marin County, Georgia. William and wife, Elizabeth, along with many family members, are buried in Walker Cemetary, Brazos County, T exas. William Walker, John, George, and Ernest Walker are my successive grandfathers.

Hi everyone. Wow - I'm very sorry. I was not aware of any comments on this photo until, well (gulp) YEARS later!! I was mistaken when I first added this photo. His name is James Wesley Waylon Walker son of Larkin Walker and Prairie Hunsinger, grandson of James Berry Walker and great grandson of West Walker (Jr.) all of these men were from Lumpkin County. West Jr. was the last surviving miner 49'er in 1896 (the year he died). James worked at Consolidated Gold Mine at the turn of the century and later moved to Andrews, NC. His 3rd great grandfather is Elijah Walker from Burke Co. NC. which is as far as I have been able to go.
