Jewel Underwood Fambrough was born Sept 19, 1898 in ValleyHead, Alabama to David Monroe Underwood & Martha Gay Underwood. She married Floyd Joe Fambrough March 3, 1921 in Gadsden, Alabama. Together they had 13 children. They were married 57 years at the time Floyd died in 1978. Jewel was a kind and loving person, whom her children described as “never raising her voice”.
