John Basil Watmuff of St Kilda Australia was born in 1882 in St Kilda, Port Phillip City County, VIC to John Henry Watmuff and Elizabeth (Bessie) Pitts Watmuff. He had siblings Stephen Oswald Watmuff, Agnes Olive (Wattmuff) Thornton, Henry Bertram Watmuff, Walter Reginald Watmuff, and Edward "Ned" Leslie Watmuff. He married Ruth Winifred Hynes in 1915, and had children Basil Ivanoff Watmuff, Terry Brian Watmuff, and Margaret Watmuff. John Watmuff died at age 66 years old on April 11, 1949 in NSW.
