He had siblings Mary (Sister Jeanne D'Arc) Eleanor O'Hare, Margaret Bernadette O'Hare, Catherine Dorothy (O'Hare) Lind, and Ann Theresa (O'Hare) Smith. He married Monica Reynolds (Sullivan) Ohare, and they were married until John's death on December 23, 1999. John O'hare had children Elizabeth Reynolds (O'Hare) Soares, Michael J Ohare, Vincent O'Hare, and Stephen O'Hare.

Sister in law of James Shannon, Genevieve Sullivan, Peggy Ann Sullivan, Rita Sullivan, Elizabeth Sullivan, Naomi Sullivan, Sister Jeanne D'Arc O'Hare CSJ, Catherine Lind and Ann Smith. Mother of the late Michael J. O'Hare and sister of the late Thomas R. Sullivan, Mary H. Sullivan, James H. Sullivan and Walter T. Sullivan. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday July 15, from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 pm at the Mahoney Funeral Home, 187 Newsmith ST. (Rte.38) Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday July 16 at 10 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
