John Harvest Obituary
John Harvest, 56, of 41-308 Kaunauna Place, Waimanalo, a retired electrician supervisor at Wheeler Air Force Base, died Monday in Kaiser Hospital.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and again from 8 to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday at Borthwick Mortuary. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Mr. Harvest was born in Honolulu. He is survived by his widow, Molla M.; a son, John F.K.; four daughters, Mrs. Dan (Theresa D.) Yanagida, Mrs. Thomas (Mary F.) Kaneta, Mrs. Richard (Doreen) Kahalewai and Mrs. Craig (Lani-Ann) Kauanoe; four step-children, Leilani, Frank and Lester Kekua and Elizabeth Young; Il grandchildren; two brothers, Charles and David; and four sisters, Minnie Welch, Mary Lee, Eva Blacklege, Ann Akau and Violet Gilman.

John Harvest was born in Hawaii on March 23, 1920 to parents Edward Kalani Harvest (1893-1962) and Mary Ferreira (1897-1961). He was one of 10 children in his family including an older brother Eddie and younger siblings Mary, Joseph, Annie, Eva, and Minnie Harvest. He lived in Waialua, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA and worked for the U S Quartermaster Laundry. He was a Private First Class in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II. His service began on December 10, 1940 and lasted through December 22, 1946. John married Theresa Dorothy (1929-1994) and together they had 8 children including John Francis Kealoha Harvest (1947-2018), Theresa Harvest (1948-1948), Martha Ululani Harvest (1953-1969), and Rosemary Harvest (1952-1952).
