My husband's G.G. Grandfather. He was born April 16, 1833 in Virgina. I would guess this photo was taken in Missouri. John was in Missouri by 1880. He died in Monroe Co., MO. March 17, 1890. and is buried in Middle Grove Cemetery in Missouri.
We don't know much about John Williams background. He left Virgina abt. 1864. Family says he deserted the army.His wife was Electa unknown. She was born in New york. We don't even know if the date on the back of picture is correct.
Sorry it took so long to answer. The picture was posted over a year ago. I have since found that John Williams was born April 16, 1833 in Virgina. He died March 17, 1890 in Monroe Co. Union, Missouri. He and his wife, Electa, are buried in the Middle Grove Church Cemetery in Union, MO.We still do not know where in Virgina he was born or who his parents were. Phyllis
