Kenneth Dean Pitcher
I wrote this obit on a notepad while sitting in the back seat of Ken's parents' car as we were on our way to see Ken--them for the first time. I remember trying to keep this accurate, but brief. A note to all--the writing never gets any easier, but this was my most difficult to pen: Kenneth Dean Pitcher, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, age 45, died July 18, 1992, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born Nov. 1, 1946 in Logan, Utah to Lewis Dennis and Esther Joy Jorgensen Pitcher. He attended schools in Cache Valley and joined the Navy in 1966. On March 6, 1971, he married Patricia Fonnesbeck (he said it was the smartest thing she ever did!), in Elko, Nevada. He completed his electrical training at Trade Tech (SLCC), and received his journeyman's license. He worked for various contractors before starting at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake in 1982, where he was an M and R foreman. Ken loved his family and was deeply proud of his son, Jamie. He enjoyed living and people. His exuberance was infectious. His absence wounds us deeply. Survived by wife, Pat; son, Jamison; parents, Dennis and Joy Pitcher, Smithfield; brothers and sisters, Janice (Chuck) Brainard, Buena Vista, Colo., Dale (Noreen) Leatham, Casper, Wyo., Mary (Randy) Spackman, Richmond; Terry (Janet) Pitcher, Hyde Park; John (Treena) Pitcher, Nibley; in-laws, Till and Suzanne Fonnesbeck, Annette (Dan) Hughes, and Jacqueline Fonnesbeck, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and 24 nieces and nephews. Funeral services Wednesday, 11 a.m. in the Lake Hills Chapel, 10066 South State, Sandy, where family and friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park, where Veteran Rites will be accorded by the American Legion. Funeral directors, Walker Mortuary, Morgan, Utah. Written by Mrs. Pat Pitcher
