Lena Mandleur was born on February 11, 1886 in Alsace-Lorraine (at the time Germany but now France. She grew up there and immigrated to the US arriving in New York City on Augsut 9, 1904. She was married to Harry Besley, and together they had children Ada Schiraldi, Mary Grace (Besley ) Snider, Dora (Besley ) Fallon, Henry E. Besley, Charles Edward Besley, Catherine A (Besley ) Mock, and George Besley. After Harry's passing, she re married to Arthur Joseph Lafley.
