She was born Nov. 27, 1934, in Caldwell County, and was the daughter of the late Bryson and Mary Richards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Otis J. Pennell. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Pennell of Morganton. Mrs. Pennell is survived by two grandchildren: granddaughter, Clarissa Fincher of Nebo, and grandson, Jaron Pennell of Morganton; and great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Fincher of Asheville. Also surviving are nephews, Bryson Richards and Stewart Allen Richards, both of Sawmills. The family will receive friends at Gilead Baptist Church, Nebo, Friday, Dec. 13, from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Billy Bollinger officiating.
