He also married Sylvia Y. Garcia, and they had children Angelica Y. Cantu, Gloria G. Cantu, and Javier R. Cantu. Luis Cantu died at age 47 years old on January 28, 2006 in Eagle Pass, Maverick County, Texas United States.
