Marguerite Rogers “Grete” Sutterfield BIRTH 11 Oct 1922 Senath, Dunklin County, Missouri, USA DEATH 7 Sep 2012 (aged 89) Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, USA BURIAL Oaklawn Cemetery Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, USA MEMORIAL ID 96737944 · Marguerite Rogers Sutterfield, 89, of Jonesboro, AR., died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at her home of natural causes. Marguerite was born in Senath, Missouri. She was a graduate of Bay High School. She earned BSE and MSE degrees from Arkansas State University and taught school for 45 years. Marguerite taught the last 26 years of her career at South Elementary School in Jonesboro. She was a member of Fisher Street United Methodist Church, the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association and Alpha Delta Kappa teachers sorority. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Avis Holt Rogers, by her husband, Gerald E. Sutterfield, and a brother, Ed Rogers. Survivors include a son, Jerry Sutterfield of Jonesboro; a daughter and son-in-law: Patti and Dan Cooper of Loudon, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren: Daniel Cooper of Loudon, Tennessee, Drew Cooper of Johnson City, Tennessee, Tony Sutterfield of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Kris Sharp (Joel) of Jonesboro, Angie Hotop of Bay, and David Sutterfield (Angie) of Jonesboro;

Margurite was married to Hubert G. Ogles until his death in 1944. Thay had one son, Jerry. Marguerite married Gerald E Sutterfield and they had one daughter, Patti. They were married 57 years. Gerald passed away in 2006. Marguerite passed away in 2012.

I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US.
