Marguerite Rogers Sutterfield, 89, of Jonesboro, AR., died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at her home of natural causes.
Marguerite was born in Senath, Missouri.
She was a graduate of Bay High School. She earned BSE and MSE degrees from Arkansas State University and taught school for 45 years. Marguerite taught the last 26 years of her career at South Elementary School in Jonesboro. She was a member of Fisher Street United Methodist Church, the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association and Alpha Delta Kappa teachers sorority.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Avis Holt Rogers, by her husband, Gerald E. Sutterfield, and a brother, Ed Rogers.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Sutterfield of Jonesboro; a daughter and son-in-law: Patti and Dan Cooper of Loudon, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren: Daniel Cooper of Loudon, Tennessee, Drew Cooper of Johnson City, Tennessee, Tony Sutterfield of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Kris Sharp (Joel) of Jonesboro, Angie Hotop of Bay, and David Sutterfield (Angie) of Jonesboro;
Margurite was married to Hubert G. Ogles until his death in 1944. Thay had one son, Jerry. Marguerite married Gerald E Sutterfield and they had one daughter, Patti. They were married 57 years. Gerald passed away in 2006. Marguerite passed away in 2012.
