My father’s side is Polish, and mother’s is Italian. My maternal grandmother immigrated in 1952, while my maternal grandfather was a second generation immigrant. The family resides in Kenosha or Racine, WI, although both grandparents are now deceased. I know I have extended family in Italy, however I don’t know anything about them. I am close with my grandma’s sister and three distant cousins (her son and his children). My father’s side is Polish and settled in upper Wisconsin, mainly in the Wausau area. I think most of the family came from 1860-1880, and I believe both of my grandparents are third-generation immigrants. I could be wrong. There is a lot more information out there, however it’s confusing because there are a lot of offspring, many of whom share the same name so it’s difficult to decipher if it’s a grandparent or an uncle.
