Mama was born March 9, 1877. Her mother died when she was only 8 yrs old. Aunt Belle married & the boys all left the ranch to work. Mama and Aunt Lou had to keep house, care for the farm animals, and feed the ranch hands. She didn't have a childhood after that. When I was a child, Mama bought a lot of things for me because she was making up for her lost childhood. Mama & I had tea parties while she sewed. I still have the tea set.
