Home on leave in November/December 1941, dad spent hours hiking his beloved West Virginia mountains, fishing and hunting. He was there, visiting his father, Sheriff Crockett Webb, and his siblings and family, when the bombing of Pearl Harbor was announced on the radio. This photo is believed to have been taken at Chief Logan State Park in neighboring Logan County, WV.
Date & Place: at Gordon in Boone, West Virginia USA
