Michael Malkowitz was my uncle who was a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was shot and killed in combat in the Philippines and was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart medal. He is buried in St. Michael’s cemetery in S. Hackensack, NJ.
