Augusta - Entered into rest on Monday, August 8, 2003, Mr. Moses Freeman Dickey, 82, of Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, beloved husband of Mrs. Dorothy James Dickey. Graveside services will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Billy Turner and Albert Stroup officiating. Pallbearers will be Chuck and Russell McDowell, Paul Larkin, Jim Schoolfield, Roy Morris, and Tommy Morgan. Other survivors include his daughter, Dannette Dickey McDowell of Appling; brothers, Edward Dickey of Waynesboro and Toby Dickey of Savannah; three grandchildren, Lynn Cochran, James Dickey McDowell, and Chuck McDowell; as well as eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Dickey was a native of McBean and had lived all of his life in the Augusta area. He was a retired furniture salesman having retired from Roberts Furniture Company. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a former member of Broad Street Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. Most recently, he was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.
