He had siblings Leon Christian Wolner, Laura Christine Wolner, Hilda Elise "Alice" Wolner, Otto August Wolner, Henry Walter Wolner, Anna Boletta Wolner, Martin Richard Wolner, Casper Bernhard Wolner, Borgil (Bonnie) Margaret Wolner, Genevieve Elvira (Wolner) Paul, and Thelma Eunice Wolner. He married Ruth Hildegard (Mossengren) Wolner, and they were married until death separated them on February 8, 1968. He had children Joyce Ruth Wolner, James Oliver Wolner, Joan Darlene Wolner, Gene David Wolner, Germaine Hilma Wolner, Joel Charles Wolner, Janet Andrea Wolner, Jane Mary Wolner, John Peter Wolner, Gary Dean Wolner, Robert Lee Wolner, Richard Dwight Wolner, Stephen Lynn Wolner, Mark Bradly Wolner, and Rebecca Marie Wolner. Oliver Wolner died at age 64 years old on February 8, 1968, and was buried at Oak Lawn Cemetery, in St. James,Minnesota.
