The caption should have explained what happened to this poor baby. Hard to " look past" any sadness if one knows the atrocity that occurred!

When I went to Auschwitz, I managed to stay composed. Until we came to a display that had baby clothing from some of the victims, then I completely broke down. I just can't believe anyone could murder babies like that.

I'm aware of that. This post was about a child that was murdered in the Holocaust, hence why I didn't mention Syria.

I know, I read that, but he is not sad in this picture and I am glad to know before that horrific day he was loved by his mother.

My perspective: I want to honor that they lived while remembering what happened to them all. Honoring that they lived: Enjoying their lives and photos of them. Remembering what happened: So that personally and as a society we will always oppose hate, judgmentalism, and people who preach a tribal outlook. So, I love the picture - because it's him. Who he was. I feel sadness for what happened to him. Those aren't opposing views - each of them in their own way honor his life.

I have the EXACT same look when my mother stuck me up on a barrel for a picture. I was two and instead of a bottle I was bribed with a Graham cracker!

The bottle is interesting b/c the nipple is actually very similar to a human mom's nipple when it's in the baby's mouth. When they make those bottle nipples that looked like a "normal" nipple, they were hard for the baby to use. And don't worry, the nipple doesn't stay shaped this way. So sorry that he dies under such terrible conditions.

I believe photos of all those who were murdered in those horrible camps should be shared over and over so we can honor their memory. I saw a picture of a very large box full of wedding rings. It made me incredibly sad for them and all their loved ones.
