President Theodore Roosevelt
A portrait photo of President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States and 25th Vice-President of the United States.
Scholars often rank Teddy Roosevelt as one of the greatest Presidents of the United States but he was also a great explorer. He traveled extensively (to Africa, Europe, and South America - but also throughout the American west) after his Presidency. It was on a trip to South America that he contracted malaria, which lead to his death at the age of 60.
