Quintin DeLeon Labarinto
Quintin De Leon Labarinto was born on September 30, 1908, in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines, the child of Tubercio and Sotera DeLeon. Came to America in 1930 at age 22 worked at Hotel del Coronado, San Diego, Ca as bellboy help tourist carry luggage to their rooms. After awhile became a waiter recieving big tips for well known actors and actresses such as Clark Gable, Douglas Fairbanks, Ginger Rogers, and many others. Theywere filming movies. Towards late 30's work at the San Diego Hotel as a waiter and later became a pantryman/chef. Worked there until joining the filipino-army military in 1941. Stationed at New Guinea, Philippines and 2 other places. During the war in Tacloban, at the dance club met other women pass out candy, notepad, pencil, etc., Only person write letter for many years love of he's life Veronica send letter every year and later married Veronica Metran Azores on May 25, 1952, in Jaro, Leyte, Philippines. After the war return back to America and continue he's career at San Diego Hotel(in Downtown) as pantryman/chef. Worked at Kona Kai Inn, Grant Hotel, Bahia, Hilton San Diego, and El Cortez Hotel. They had three children during their marriage. Retired as a Chef age 83. Died on March 30, 2005, in National City, California, at the age of 96. Preceeded with he's wife Veronica Metran Azores Labarinto and son Augustine Azores Labarinto (whom only live 1 day/died) Survive Children: Mario A Labarinto, Ethel A Labarinto, and Grandchildren: Mark Anthony Cambay Labarinto, Brett V Nichols, and Brandon A Nichols.
